The Ernie Pyle Public Library at 900 Girard Boulevard SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a historic 1940 home built by the famed World War II war correspondent and his wife, Jerry. Following Pyle’s death in combat in 1945 and his wife's passing shortly after, the property was acquired by the city and opened on October 11, 1948, as Albuquerque’s first public library branch.
